DEE LIVINGSTONE (OWNER/ SINGER/ ACTRESS) “TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT” FINALIST
Dee was originally classically trained by her mother during her late teens. After a few years of indecision where she gained her first insight into the joys (!) of catering, she moved to London age 23 where she trained at the London School of Musical Theatre. Dee worked within theatre for around 7 years performing in critically acclaimed productions ranging from the award winning Scottish premiere of Into The Woods (Edinburgh Fringe) to The Rat Pack Live From Las Vegas (original cast) to Honk (National Theatre tour) before deciding that a life treading the boards was not for her. She became a waitress at the Naked Turtle where her love of jazz was re affirmed and in conjunction with her job, began singing at various London bars, restaurants & private events including the 606 Club and Battersea Barge. After leaving the Naked Turtle (of which she had become manager), she returned to focusing on her catering career, working as a manager at the Victoria in East Sheen and the Crown in St Margarets. However, over the last 10 months her love of music has returned and prior to buying the Turtle with her husband Patrick and their partners John and Sue Tierney, Dee had begun to sing and record professionally again. The Naked Turtle brings together her two passions in life, music and restaurants!

Photography
The recent installation of photographic art at the newly re-launched restaurant, The Naked Turtle, has come at an auspicious moment for the Richmond based photographic business run by Carl Grant as it re-brands as ‘Design By Art’.
Aimed at satisfying the ever increasing demand from restaurants, bars, hotels and even corporate offices and receptions for exclusive art, the launch of the new website sees a new and extensive range of art available to buy online from it’s many ‘themed’ Galleries. All the art in the ‘Design By Art’ collection is exclusive and cannot be purchased anywhere else.
The company can also create unique pieces of art to meet a client’s exclusive requirements - whether it’s a specific subject theme, as in the case of The Naked Turtle, a specific colour scheme or even an unconventional medium.
Design by Art, also offers the possibility of retailing the art in a venue’s ‘dead space’ with a generous commission paid on any work sold.
Having spent some years working in interior design, Carl’s eye goes beyond just the art itself. He understands how it can work as an integral part of the overall design of a space. Clients can also take the opportunity to “see the art on the walls” before buying, through the company’s pre-visual design service, again exclusive to ‘Design By Art’.
The Possibilities are limited only by imagination, for more information contact Carl Grant at
